It depends if you'd like to fly commercial or military. For commercial flying, you don’t. You simply need money to pay the helicopter and instructor to get your helicopter ratings. You do not have to have a college degree, yet, to get a job as a helicopter pilot. But, a college degree never hurt anyone in any career pursuit. Now that being said, without a college diploma you will possess trouble getting yourself into the airlines, with regards to helicopters go, it may be nice if you ever could speak English and find the capability to communicate.

It is my firm belief that we should avoid the widespread fixation on resumes and concentrate instead on effective broad-spectrum career-development methods. My model for this is the book What Color is Your Parachute; the key notion is that resumes are a waste of time, networking and job research are far more important and effective. But if I seek to derail, or co-opt, your resume section, and involve newbies in a far more soul-searching but rewarding indoctrination, how do I first get the wikiforum's support in providing an alternate reality? Would you like me to post a bunch of anti-resume rants, or can we create a switch at the very beginning of your career page which allows folks to choose between obsolescence (resumes) and effective (networking, etc)?
